Hauptmann Heinz Knoke 1921-1993

Hauptmann Heinz Knoke flew over 400 missions and scored 33 victories which included 19 bombers and 1 Mosquito. He was Kommandeur of III./JG 1 on August 13, 1944, and was shot down and burned severely in a duel with a P-47 on the 25th of the month. He was basically removed from front line duty by October 9, 1944.
